Meet OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Lisa Gonzalez | Director, Board President

It is my pleasure to serve on the Discovery Board of Directors and give back to the school that has partnered with us on our parenting journey. I feel the key to a successful education is a partnership between families and educators to ensure that children are supported in their strengths and weaknesses. Our family has been at Discovery since 2012. I also served as the Parent Advisory Council President from 2017-July 2021.

Apart from Discovery I am a Registered Nurse in women’s health at Northwestern Medicine, where I have worked for the last twenty-two years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue, where I graduated in 2002.

I am delighted to serve as a Discovery board member. As a family of six, we’ve called Discovery “home” since 2018, and love this community.

I am a native of Gary, IN, a United States Air Force Veteran, entrepreneur, and former tech leader at two Fortune Top 10 companies: Valero Energy and Microsoft. I am the founder of “Audacious Academy,” which empowers corporate professionals to take the ownership to advance their careers.

I have a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and currently serve on the board of advisors for University of Maryland Global Campus, my undergrad alma mater. I love to travel the world, and I lived in Europe for three years.

I’ve always been an advocate for youth – empowering them to be inclusive, confident, and resilient – as a former public school teacher, a nonprofit founder, and multi-award-winning filmmaker. I am excited to partner with and support our school’s faculty, staff, parents, volunteers, and students.

I am a mother of two, wife and daughter who loves education. As a Mom and School Psychologist, my goal is to partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. I believe that this is key to strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

I obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology from Delaware State University. From then I worked with various social services agencies, served as a consultant for one the largest healthcare insurance companies, and served as a board member for a non for profit agency.

I then transitioned back to academia where I earned my Masters and Specialists degrees in School Psychology at Governors State University and obtained a Masters in Educational Leadership at Concordia University. As a life long learner, my most recent education has resulted in a certificate of DEI in Education.

Christinaé Hudson | Director, Interim Secretary Chudson@discoverycharter.org

I am excited to contribute to this community as a board member at Discovery Charter School. I am a native of Gary, IN and the mother of two Discovery Charter School scholars. I graduated from Purdue University (West Lafayette) with a B.S. in Environmental Health Science. I also received my Project Management certification from Duke University.

I have always had a passion to make the world around me a better place. My love for the environment began in college while conducting water quality research at the West Lafayette Wastewater Treatment Plant. Later I was able to bring that experience closer to home and participated in wetland restoration at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. For the past fifteen years, I have been a civil servant for the United States Food and Drug Administration. Over the course of my tenure with the FDA, I have helped millions of Americans with making sure their foods, drugs, dietary supplements, vaccines, cosmetics and medical devices are safe and effective. I am also the owner of Naomi Paperworks, a stationery company that focuses on creating custom memories for every occasion. When I am not protecting the country from potential health hazards or creating custom stationery suites, I enjoy gardening and baking.
