Quarter 4: Plan A - Full In-Person Information and Resources
Full In-Person Schedule
Additional Information for Transition to Plan A
Will students and staff be required to wear masks?
Yes, masks will continue to be required by anyone inside of the school building.
How will social distancing look in the classroom?
Social distancing will be arranged in the best possible way in the classroom as space allows. Group work may occur, but with
consistency of the same students as in the general seating chart for the classroom and lunchroom.
Will full remote students continue with the same virtual instruction schedule and teacher?
We will not know for certain until we receive the results of the quarter 4 form. We will keep the designated remote teacher as an
option if the numbers allow us to do so. This decision will be on a grade-by-grade basis. Our goal is to maintain consistency as much
as possible.
Will Wednesdays continue to be eLearning days for all students?
No changes will be made to these days. Wednesdays will continue to be eLearning days for all students. During these
weekly eLearning days, students will continue to engage in activities that are connected to our mission of place-based education.
Are there any changes to the school day for quarter 4?
For the remainder of the school year, the school year will continue to be 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The gym doors will continue to
open at 7:30 A.M. with the main doors open at 7:45 P.M. Dismissal will begin promptly at 3:00 P.M. LATE PICKUP: Families will
be charged at a rate of $1.00 each minute students are picked up after 3:30 P.M.
If my child is in-person, what do we do with their school issued device?
Students who will be receiving in-person instruction should return their school issued device to school. Students need to be able
to access their devices during the school day. Depending on the grade level or classroom, a Chromebook may be needed for
eLearning place-based activities that occur on Wednesday. If this is the case, classroom teachers will communicate
this information with families and allow for devices to be taken home.
What happens if my child has to quarantine?
Students in quarantine will continue learning with their current classroom teachers. Students will receive links to attend live sessions
via Google Meet for core content areas (Reading, Math, Writing) and/or receive links to videos. Classroom assignments will be
posted in Google Classroom. In the event a student needs to quarantine and does not have a device available at home to complete
virtual work, a Chromebook will be assigned for the duration of the quarantine.
In extended quarantine periods (longer than 14 days), students may be asked to log in and receive live instruction with the “remote
teacher”. Students will return to their regular classroom teacher after the extended quarantine.
Will there be any changes to Specials in the 4th quarter?
During the 4th quarter, all students will attend specials four days a week. Students will attend the same specials, such as music, all
four days. Each week, students will rotate to a new specials class.
What will lunch, recess, and bathroom breaks look like for the 4th quarter?
Students have scheduled lunch, recess, and bathroom breaks throughout the day.
Lunch
During lunch, students eat without their masks on. Students are seated at tables with plexi-glass dividers. Tables and dividers are wiped
off at the end of each grade level’s lunch period. Students must sanitize their hands prior to going to recess.
Recess
During recess, students play without masks on and freely move around our outdoor play space. Students are
encouraged to continue moving throughout recess.
Bathroom Breaks
Classroom bathroom breaks occur during designated times both before lunch and after recess. Each classroom is assigned to a specific
location to increase distancing between students. During classroom bathroom breaks, students are asked to focus on handwashing.
If the 4th quarter will be the first time my child is attending school in-person, what are some ways in which I can best prepare for this transition?
Gather Items:
Supply your child with two masks (one to wear and one extra in their backpack)
Send a reusable water bottle that is already filled
Optional: mini bottle of hand sanitizer
Review Procedures:
Review our school’s arrival and dismissal procedures. Please create a sign to display in your window of your vehicle during arrival and
dismissal. This sign should include your child’s name.
Review the “Academics” tab of our school website. Within this section of our website there is a tab for “Quarter 4” which
includes information on self-screening and mask/face covering guidance. You can also gain access to reporting a student absence.
Review Classroom Information & Schedules:
When your child’s teacher shares classroom schedules and information, please make sure to review it and share it with your child to
better prepare them for this transition. Do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or administration if you have any
questions.
If there is change to my student’s classroom assignment, when will I be notified?
Teachers will reach out to families by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 10th.
